'I Did the Shooting': Orlando Nightclub Massacre 911 Calls Revealed

During a court hearing Friday, an attorney representing the city said nearly two-thirds of the more than 600 emergency calls had been released and the remaining 229 calls were exempted under a Florida law that prohibits the release of records of someone being killed.

Mateen replied by saying his "name is Islamic Soldier". A US led coalition has targeted Islamic State group militants with airstrikes in those two countries.

She had earlier asserted to several media outlets that he was gay, and several men have reported seeing him at gay clubs, including Pulse, and interacting with him on gay hookup apps such as Grindr, although their reports have not been confirmed.

Omar Mateen told the 911 operator that he was the shooter at the Pulse club and that the USA needed to stop bombing Syria.

Andy and Mateen would spend an hour on the phone, although much of that hour was Andy desperately trying to get Mateen to communicate with him.

A dozen minutes later, a police negotiator called him.

Mateen repeatedly highlighted U.S. actions in Syria and Iraq as motivating his attack.

"Tell me what you did please", the negotiator said. Mateen tells the negotiator the US needs to stop bombing Syria and Iraq, adding, "They are killing a lot of innocent people".

Around 3:25 a.m., Mateen said, "They need to stop killing people".

Mateen: My name is Islamic soldier, okay?

'I want to let you know I'm in Orlando and I did the shooting, ' he said.

"You have to tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq".

The attack occurred during the holy month of Ramadan. The transcripts show long pauses where he does not respond at all.

"My homeboy Tamerlan Tsarnaev did his thing on the Boston Marathon", Mateen said.

If the call offers any insight to Mateen, he was very distraught about the airstrikes committed by the U.S. and Russian Federation in Syria. "Your people are going to get it and I'm going to ignite it if they try to do anything stupid". " he asked. "What's going on is that I feel the pain of the people getting killed in Syria and Iraq and all over the Muslim [unidentifiable word]", he said". They need to stop the U.S. air strikes, okay?'

He specifically mentioned the airstrike that killed Abu Wahid, an Islamic State military leader, in May, saying "That's what triggered it, okay?"
