Arsene Wenger urges Arsenal fans not to boycott Sunderland game

Wenger praises'fighter Sanchez for playing through the pain

Arsenal have just three games left before their season ends - two in the Premier League against Sunderland and Everton and an FA Cup final showdown with newly-crowned champions Chelsea.

"Arsenal" has won four of their last five home games, conceding to them only on "Manchester City".

Wenger will be hoping Middlesbrough - who face Liverpool on Sunday with nothing to play for after being relegated - and City's remaining opponents, West Brom and Watford, can do Arsenal a favour by picking up results.

"We knew that we were playing for our lives really, so any result other than a win wasn't good for us", he said after the game.

"Some teams turn up, some teams are on holiday".

"They've done well but in the last two seasons, with Leicester and Chelsea, the team that won the league hasn't played in Europe". If you look at just the first halves, we would have qualified. "You had basically two leagues, with the top six and everyone else", via the Mirror.

Wishful thinking maybe but you do feel that an in form and happy Sanchez is exactly what the club could do with next season in order to be in the running for trophies.

A convincing 4-1 win at Stoke on Saturday kept those slim chances alive, although Arsenal are now sweating over the fitness of Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez ahead of the visit of bottom club Sunderland.

"We can only influence our own behaviour and take care of ourselves, not judge too much the others".

"If we cannot score with all these situations it is hard to win a game". One point would be hard to swallow but that should not as well change the judgment on the quality of the team to a way where you think you have absolutely to change everything.

"I would say we would be a victim of the lack of consistency that we have shown during the season". "The most hard thing against a team like Stoke is scoring the first goal and after that we had to be efficient".

"I'm positive because it looks like we've got stronger in every single game", said Wenger.

Earlier in the day, reports in France had even suggested that Wenger has already agreed a one-year deal to remain in charge at the Emirates, but the 67-year-old refused to confirm or deny the claim.
