Diego Costa: "I will only leave Chelsea for Atlético Madrid"

The Spanish worldwide might have been linked with a big-money move to Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian at the end of the season, but the player himself has denied any interest from his side of moving to the Far East at this stage of his career.

Costa says he would only be willing to leave Stamford Bridge to re-sign for Atletico, the club he joined Chelsea from in 2014 for £32 million, although the Spanish side would have to pay almost double that to prise him away.

CHELSEA striker Diego Costa has no interest in a lucrative move to a Chinese club because it would jeopardize his chances of playing in next year's World Cup.

Costa, who joined Chelsea from Atletico in 2014, added of his future: "I'm very calm, the only conversation I've had is with the club, for them to call my people to know what's going to happen".

"I have no intention to leave, I'm good here, I have two years left".

Costa was Chelsea's top scorer as Antonio Conte's side won the English Premier League title this season.

Chelsea had contract negotiations with the striker open at the time of the bid from China but they have since come to a standstill, following the player's falling out with coaching staff. If not, I will stay here.

'If the club wants to sell me, they know where I want to go'. I'm not interested in other clubs. "Everyone know what my preferred club is, there's nothing to hide".

Atletico could be in the market for a striker this summer, should Antoine Griezmann move to Manchester United, and the Spanish club will have been put on high alert by Costa's comments after the match. "There's a World Cup (in 2018) and if I go to China I won't play in it".
