Pressure still on Caps, but spotlight is on Fleury in Game 6

When the National Hockey League was still an ocean away, Evgeny Kuznetsov would study the best and hope one day to join them. When an early Capitals power play went nowhere and Hagelin made it 1-0 Pittsburgh 10:24 in, it got quiet fast - except for Penguins fans' derisive chants of "HOLT-BY, HOLT-BY".

But even with their best player and one of their most important depth forwards playing with a concussion, the Penguins were still 20 minutes from clinching the series, on the road no less.

Both Sid and his original Kid played full games on Saturday night.

Instead, Kevin Shattenkirk scored for Washington in the extra period.

Netminder Marc-Andre Fleury held the Capitals' lethal offensive corps at bay through the majority of the first four tilts, but the dam finally broke in Game 5 as Washington posted four goals - their highest total in the second round - to push Pittsburgh to Game 6. That might have - ahem - ruffled some of the Penguins' feathers, but it was his way of announcing his presence in a series in which he has been impossible to miss.

"We're still down", captain Alex Ovechkin said. The team has put a lot of work into making sure they win a Stanley Cup this season.

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) - Kyle Turris scored 6:28 into overtime to lift the Ottawa Senators to 5-4 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday for a 3-2 series lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. His play has started to mirror that of the players he has long admired. "You still can learn something from him if you want to be better". "I think that's what good leadership does, people will follow good leadership".

The difference for me when watching from the ice last night was the sound and the seismic measure of Game 5 when compared to the previous bouts. As for the Penguins, they've only put 84 pucks on net at 5-on-5, which is far and away the fewest of any team in the second round, especially when you consider the Anaheim Ducks have fired almost twice as many in roughly 27 extra minutes of play.

Kuznetsov got to a loose puck down low and scored from a tight angle to give the Capitals the lead. They're 9-1 in playoff games following losses - 2-0 in that regard this year - and will surely be looking for a strong bounce-back effort.

He has relished those tough matchups this season.

With Orlov on the ice during five-on-five action, the Capitals generated 23 shot attempts and allowed just eight, a team-best differential of plus-15. Capitals D Brooks Orpik appeared to shake his left hand after being slashed by Evgeni Malkin in the first period.

Andre Burakovsky scored twice, T.J. Oshie and Nicklas Backstrom each had a goal and an assist, and John Carlson also scored for Washington.

"I've said all along this year and throughout the playoffs, too, for us to win, he needs to be great", forward Justin Williams said.

"He's a competitor", defenseman Brian Dumoulin said. "You've just got to win on Monday". We can't think about Game 7. I know this because the Capitals have territorially dominated the Penguins all series.

"I felt good", Sheary said of the morning skate as a horde of reporters crowded around his stall in the tiny visitors locker room. Indeed, he loves putting on a show, whether it be through his dazzling passes, his kooky goal celebrations or his entertaining interviews with media. Holtby hasn't stolen any games in this series yet and it would be a huge help if he does at some point in the next two games.
