Schapelle Corby deportation

The 39-year-old touched down in Brisbane just after 5am, nearly 30 minutes earlier than expected after she and her sister Mercedes duped a frenzied media pack and switched planes at the 11th hour.

The beauty school dropout covered her face with a scarf as she was bustled out of her home on the Indonesian resort island, amid heavy security as a huge pack of Australian and worldwide journalists jostled to get a shot of her.

Mercedes Corby shields her sister Schapelle, who has her face covered, in the vehicle taking her to the parole office.

For weeks now Bali officials have been insisting Schapelle Corby is no one special and her long-awaited deportation back to Australia will be "SOP" - the acronym commonly used here for standard operating procedure.

According to the head of the parole office, Surung Pasaribu, Corby had been fearful of the constant media coverage, and he said the Australian government had asked his office to ensure her safety ahead of her departure to Brisbane on Saturday night.

Australian Schapelle Corby was deported from Bali on Saturday, 12 years after being convicted of drug trafficking on the tourist island, battling through a media storm in a dramatic end to a saga that has captivated her homeland. Up to 40 media had booked onto the Virgin flight. Commercial television states held live broadcasts to monitor the developments, and a throng of Australian and global media waited outside her home.

And while there have been predictions that Corby could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars if she was to do a media deal, given the strict Proceeds from Crime Act and the Corby family's history, and success, at suing various media outlets, commercial television networks Seven and Nine have been uncharacteristically coy about how they intend to cover Schapelle's "homecoming".

The pair left the airport soon afterwards, believed to be heading to their month's house in Loganlea, a suburb in the city's south.

Bali's Law and Human Rights Ministry chief, Ida Bagus Ketut Adnyana, confirmed late on Friday that Schapelle Corby will be required to report today to the parole board for the final time.

Corby posted a clip on her new Instagram account: "Oooh that's a big one", Mercedes says, referring to a camera looming through the tinted vehicle windows.

He last saw Corby at Kerobokan prison in February 2014 when she underwent a medical test before being granted parole. She was a free woman from that moment.

Schapelle had "mixed emotions" about returning to Australia.

Queensland Police said they had not provided an escort for the convoys.

But Ms Rose, who has not seen Schapelle in person for two years, is thrilled she is coming home.

Feeling trapped in her Kuta home as the media frenzy continues, Schapelle Corby remains inside, nervous about tomorrow's highly anticipated events. "She said to us, You can see that I am healthy".

"The priority of our focus will now be on healing and moving forward", the statement said.

"I have to do the security by increasing the police keeping guard on the streets around here".
