Cities, states and companies vow to stick to the Paris climate agreement

President Donald Trump's decision to leave the Paris climate agreement has made the USA a "rogue state", the United Nations' former envoy on climate change warns.

So far, Bloomberg has recruited the governors of California, Washington and NY to pledge to help meet the carbon emissions reductions goals set out by the Paris agreement.

In the wake of Trump's decision, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto reaffirmed his city's commitment to the 2015 Paris accord and called the president's move "reckless" and "unacceptable".

Together the states represent one-fifth of U.S GDP, and almost one-fifth of the US population, according to a statement. "Tiny, tiny amount." But soon it emerged that Trump had picked up selective information to justify the rationale behind his decision. "It's the most significant geopolitically".

"He is not helping the forgotten American. their kids will have worse asthma in the summer", Kerry said on MSNBC Thursday.

Obviously protecting our environment is critically important and if companies and individuals truly care about it, they will do their part on their own whether we are part of the treaty or not.

French President Emmanuel Macron strongly rebuked President Donald Trump's controversial decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Accord before trolling him hard online.

The Trump administration's announcement undermines a key pillar in the fight against climate change and damages the world's ability to avoid the most risky and costly effects of climate change.

Environmental campaigners staged protests against President Donald Trump's decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord, while other nations pledged to double down on their efforts to curb global warming.

But Britain did not sign a joint statement by the leaders of Germany, France and Italy, who said they regretted Trump's decision and insisted that the accord can not be renegotiated.

Climate Interactive found that by not following through on its Paris climate commitment, the United States would spew an additional 1.4 gigatons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year through 2025, as compared with the USA following through on its commitment.

"The Paris agreement is irreversible and will be implemented because it is our responsibility", he said.

China and the European Union wrote in their joint statement that they thought investing in tackling climate change would actually contribute to job creation, investment opportunities and economic growth. French President Emmanuel Macron even invited scientists to relocate to France, saying in a speech televised in English, "Make our planet great again".
