NBA Finals Game 3 ratings up 22 percent from past year

Previous year the Cavaliers became the first team to win a title after trailing the Finals 3-1 when they beat the Warriors 93-89 in the deciding game.

The Warriors have now won 15 games in a row.

Wednesday's NBA Finals game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors proved one thing, and one thing only: No matter how well the Cavs play, and they played really well, they can not win this series, let alone a game.

Kevin Durant scored 31 points, seven of them in the closing minutes, and the Golden State Warriors beat Cleveland 118-113 on Wednesday, seizing command of the NBA Finals and extending their undefeated play-off run in dramatic fashion.

"We've grown and matured just mentally of how to just pace yourself through and take every day as a new experience and something that you can kind of take control of". However, the Cleveland Cavaliers still have some guy named LeBron James playing small forward for them.

After blowing a 3-1 NBA Finals lead last season, Warriors All-Star Draymond Green didn't just get mad: he took action. They won both games in Oakland to take a 2-0 series lead into Game 3 in Cleveland on Wednesday night. In fact, according to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, the hope was because both players were so hot that at some point they'd get exhausted of carrying their team.

"You can tell, he knows this is his moment", Kerr said. "So we made enough plays tonight to still win the ballgame, but they made a couple more", added James, via ESPN.

The top-seeded and undefeated Warriors, who can close out a flawless postseason run on Friday, boast a slew of weapons, most notably two-time reigning league MVP Stephen Curry and four-times scoring champion Kevin Durant. And while many National Basketball Association spectators thought it was too much, it did give high hopes for Cavs fans who fell to a dead silence in the last final minutes of Wednesday night's game. Maybe, but I don't think Durant sees it that way - what he wanted was his best shot at a title, and he's going to get that.

"We know in that situation to get that man the rock".

Irving missed an off-balance 3-pointer and Durant and Curry each made two free throws on the next Golden State possessions to seal Cleveland's fate.

"I feel like if we come in with the same energy, same effort and physicality as we did in Game 3, we will give ourselves a good chance to win", LeBron James said on Thursday.

The Cavaliers, on their home court for the first time in the series, led 113-107 with three minutes to go after swingman JR Smith knocked down a pivotal triple, but they proved to be the home team's last points of the night. The Cavs went to Irving, who was guarded by Klay Thompson just like he was on Christmas Day when Irving hit a game victor on the very same court.

Should the Warriors complete the sweep, it would be first sweep in the Finals since 2007, when the San Antonio Spurs also swept the Cavaliers.

But it comes by recalling the pain of last year's finals. "But that's pretty taxing to go one-on-one the whole game".
