U.S. President Donald Trump participates in an American Technology Council roundtable, accompanied by Tim Cook, CEO of Apple (L) and Satya Nadella CEO of Microsoft Corporation. Out of the remaining 18, many have opposed the President in different instances, including outspoken statements and funding to his adversaries during the presidential campaign previous year.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who once served as an economic advisor to the president, has already announced that he would step down following Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the administration was focusing on technology this week.

Executives who attended the summit included IBM chief executive Ginni Rometty, Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, Qualcomm's Steven Mollenkopf and Peter Thiel of the Founders Fund.
