If ObamaCare repeal is dead for now, despite Trump's protests to the contrary, this would be a fine time for him to shed himself of Price's embarrassing private-jet shenanigans.

Price has reportedly spent more than $400,000 of taxpayer money since joining the administration on private plane travel that the Health and Human Services inspector general is now probing. "But we'll see what happens with Mr. Bannon", Trump said.

The House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee opened an investigation on Wednesday into travel by top officials.

"I'm not happy with Tom".

A spokeswoman, Charmaine Yoest, said Price had once been delayed on a commercial flight and was forced to cancel a public event.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday at her daily press briefing that Price's travel was not approved by the White House, and was instead improve through HHS.

The committee is looking at all Cabinet member travel, not just Price's.

Federal regulations stipulate that "official travel on the part of federal employees must be "by the most expeditious means of transportation practicable" and 'commensurate with the nature and objective of the [employee's] duties, ' and by no means should include personal use", according to the letter.

"I'm not going to comment on that because the President hasn't commented publicly", Kellyanne Conway, a senior White House adviser, told reporters.

HHS contracted the flight to Georgia to take Price to five states within four days, according to the article, costing more than $86,000.

Last week, when stories first emerged about travel by Price on charter flights, officials at the Department of Health and Human Services defended his decision to take private jets instead of commercial flights.
