Donald Trump Reportedly Thinks That Jared Kushner Is Giving Him Bad Advice

President Donald Trump's son-in-law White House adviser Jared Kushner recently gave documents from the 2016 campaign and transition to special counsel Robert Mueller, who is overseeing the federal Russian Federation probe, CNN reported late Thursday.

The FBI has reportedly been looking into Kushner since before Mueller even took over the investigation for his multiple roles on the Trump campaign and transition team and the 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with Russia's ambassador and a Russian banker that was left off Kushner's security clearance form.

Citing a source briefed on a Tuesday call between Trump and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman reported that Trump blamed Kushner "for his role in decisions, specifically the firings" of Michael Flynn as White House national security adviser and Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director.

Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 U.S. election - and whether Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow to influence the outcome - led to the indictments on Monday of Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and Manafort's past business associate Rick Gates.

A White House official told CNN that the Mueller team's questions about Kushner are not a surprise, and that the senior advisor would be among a list of people who investigators would be asking about.

CNN reported that Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, turned over the documents to Mueller "in recent weeks".

CNN said Kushner gave the documents at his own free will.

Those events were among the factors that led the Justice Department to name a special counsel to run the probe, Robert Mueller.

The disclosures follow the indictments this week of Manafort and his longtime business partner and Trump campaign deputy, Rick Gates.

In private moments, Mr. Trump, who is prone to venting, blows off steam about the investigation but then moves on, according to one of the advisers. The former advisor added, " I would say [Kushner] should go back to real estate in NY.

"Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history", Sam Nunberg, an associate of Stone who was a Trump campaign operative, told Vanity Fair.

However, it was not clear how Kushner's advice to the President might relate to the overall Russian Federation investigation or potential obstruction of justice, the sources said.
