While nearly two-thirds of USA voters, 66 percent, described the nation's economy as good or excellent - the highest percentage in Quinnipiac polls going back to 2001 - nearly half of them, 49 percent, gave the credit to former President Barack Obama, while 40 percent credited Trump.

President Donald Trump's approval ratings in Georgia are in decline, a poll released Friday by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows. "Something noble about the presidency", former CBS news anchor Dan Rather told Salon in November.

The survey of 1,106 registered voters was conducted January 5-9 with a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.

Now, almost a year into Trump's tenure at the White House, almost six-in-10 voters in Georgia hold an unfavorable view of the president.

At the same time, 59 percent of respondents said that Trump doesn't care about average Americans. Only 36% approve of the job he's doing, the lowest percentage ever for a first-year president.

The poll held a few positives for the president: 59 percent say he is "a strong person", with 39 percent disagreeing. Overall, Americans believe Trump is not fit to serve as president, 57 percent to 40 percent, and that he doesn't share their values, 65 percent to 32 percent.

Another 7 percent say they should stay but not become citizens - while only 11 percent say they should get the boot.

"In new Quinnipiac Poll, 66% of people feel the economy is "Excellent or Good".

Trump's policies are helping the nation's economy, 37 percent of voters say, as 29 percent say his policies are hurting the economy and 30 percent say these policies are not making much difference.
