In the parliamentary elections in Hungary has won the ruling coalition

Orban's Fidesz party won by a large majority - 134 of the 199 seats in parliament - gaining over 67 percent of the votes in Sunday's parliamentary election.

After a campaign centred on resistance to immigration and trumpeting a strong economy, near-complete results showed that Mr. Orban's Fidesz party snapped up nearly half the vote (48.8%).

German MEP Sylvia-Yvonne Kaufmann, of the Socialists and Democrats grouping, said Orban had been "very successful with a campaign of fear against migrants".

The proposed bill gained its name after the US-Hungarian philanthropist George Soros, who has promoted the rights and welfare of asylum seekers and migrants around the world.

Hungary's nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Tuesday (Apr 10) that his resounding election win, challenged by the opposition, shows that voters want to stop U.S. billionaire philanthropist George Soros interfering in the country.

The new laws could make it very hard for groups working with asylum-seekers to continue their activities in Hungary.

"This has happened and we believe we are mandated by this election to pass this law".

Once approved, the laws would force the civic groups - some supported by Soros's Open Society Foundations - to get government permits, and income they receive from overseas would be taxed.

Orban added that he would cultivate deeper relations with nationalist-ruled Poland and the conservative German region of Bavaria in his new term in office due to their direct support for his re-election bid.

"They supported all that we do and they expressed the friendship of the Bavarian and Polish people", Orban continued. Still, relations between Orban and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have been weighed down by their differences over immigration. In the speeches the main emphasis was made on the cessation of immigration.

According to the Orban government, Hungary will descend into chaos should it become an "immigrant country" like France or Belgium, with funds meant for Hungarian families or the country's underpriviledged Roma minority diverted to migrants, whose presence will weaken Hungary's security and increase the risk of terrorism. He added that "the ubiquitous overlap between government information and ruling coalition campaigns, and other abuses of administration resources, blurred the lines between state and party, at odds with OSCE commitments". "Thank you for the contribution to making political opinion on the Hungarian election".
