LeBron effect: Rajon Rondo jumps to Lakers

The Lakers Signed Rajon Rondo To A $9 Million Contract And Renounced The Rights To Julius Randle

Randle posted career bests with 16.1 points on 55.8% shooting last season while also averaging 8.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Johnson and Pelinka acquired veteran Isaiah Thomas from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the deal that also brought the Lakers forward Channing Frye in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

Since signing James to a four-year, $153.3 million deal on Sunday, the Lakers have also reached agreements with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee, according to ESPN reports.

Randle had a breakout season in 2017-18.

The point guard is the latest player to join forces with James.

James left home state side Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in his career having made a decision to opt out of the final year of his contract. Rondo walks into a crowded backcourt, which includes Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

Rondo, 32, was a member of the Celtics team that won the National Basketball Association championship in 2007-08, beating the Lakers in six games in the Finals.

Rajon Rondo isn't coming to Los Angeles to watch LeBron James play from afar. Randle is more of a ball-handler and off-the-dribble threat.

ESPN is reporting that DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, one the best big men in the game is joining the reigning champion Golden State Warriors. They also could waive him and stretch his contract in order to lessen their salary cap burden. It was reported earlier today that Randle was excited about the possibility of playing on the Lakers in 2018-19. Prior to James' arrival, Turner Sports' David Aldridge reported that Randle was not interested in remaining in Los Angeles, which selected him with the seventh pick out of Kentucky in the 2014 National Basketball Association draft.

With Randle's departure, the Lakers will have no players left on their roster who played with Kobe Bryant in his final game in 2016.
